I am just amazed and all this hate and back bitin' that I'm seein'...I think there has been a serious lack of remembering one key element here...and that is...
THIS IS A TV SHOW! If you hate the way a character's bein' written right now, then don't watch!
I mean, it's absolutely no secret how I feel about Kate, but now I see y'all actin' the same way over Sawyer. I had no idea shipping a character or pairing on whatever it is was supposed to be so miserable. I don't like everything they have him doin' but if you watched the promo, you know that Sawyer and Juliet and Kate are back on the island because it showed us that. So obviously they got off the sub and they came back.
I totally understand why Sawyer left with Juliet. He had no choice! He did as best as he could. He couldn't do anything for Kate, Jack, Hurley or whoever else. He cut his losses and protected Juliet because that situation he could affect. Everything else was out of his hands.
You know, a person from the fuselage that has been mentioned on this board a few times, e-mailed me the other day because she had heard about all the Sawyer hate goin' on here. And yes, people the jaters are watchin'. Anyway she and I used to be friends some time ago and she actually asked me if I thought Josh would ever want to associate with a fan base that was behavin' this way. I have to say, no, I don't think he would. So why doesn't everybody just try to remember two things.
1. It's a TV show!!! 2. Whatever they do and however they write the characters, there is not one. single. thing. any of us can do about it. It's already been filmed and they're off enjoyin' their vacation until next August.
So with these things in mind, don't you think it'd be best to quit bitchin' and just watch the show or turn it off. Come on, in the grand scheme of things does it really affect our lives that much if Sawyer ends up with Juliet or Kate or if Kate ends up with Jack. Who cares!!! They're TV characters!! It won't be long and all we'll have is reruns on SciFi anyway!

Well, I think we care, don't we? That's why we're here. It's not nice to scold people for caring about a fictive romantic pairing in a board for people who care about a fictive romantic pairing.
And also, if the jaters are watching, or even Josh, so what? I don't mean any disrespect but we need to be free to say what we think. I haven't been disrespectful to Josh, to the writers, or even to Sawyer. If I have been, I apologize, because that is not my intention. I am criticizing the actions a character has taken because I think they are bad for my ship, period. I am here to discuss my ships, to talk about potentially good things for Sawyer/Kate but also potentially bad things.
This board is the only place I feel I can speak about Sawyer/Kate plainly and openly because my online (LJ) friends, though I love them to death, do not share my views or my concerns at all. So please, don't tell me that who cares whether Sawyer and Kate end up together or not, because then, if I can even pour my worries over it here, I can't pour them anyway.

Lisawilkins I find it interesting that you say that and yet to this day you still criticize every move Kate makes in regards to Jack and Sawyer, as though she is somehow threatening. I find your comments to be quite hypocritical given that now it's Sawyer who is in trouble with the fans. Your comments are the very reason people say there is a double standard with the characters.

That's all I gotta say on these complaints by some as to what one can or can't say about poor baby "angel" Sawyer whose every deed is justifiable because that evil witch Kate tortured him so all 1st 4 seasons of LOST.

Sorry but when it gets to the point where you telling people in a SKATE board that who cares if Sawyer ends up with Kate or Juliet, I am not sure what to say. This is a place for people who support Kate and Sawyer as a couple, not Sawyer with someone else.
Btw, the fact that we are all online chatting about these characters shows we care, so lets not be hypocrites pretending we are above others because some of us are still invested in Skate when you also come online to read what we have to say.

Lisa, you are perfectly welcome to express your opinion on the latest storylines here, but please don't lecture everyone else about "not bitching" and enjoying the show. That's borderline breaking the rules for anyone, but I think when you say it, the hypocrisy levels threaten to detonate the board. Because, really? You've been bitching about Kate for years now without taking your own advice and quitting the show. So now that Sawyer has done some things to piss off about 90% of Skaters, there's going to be a reaction to that the same way there was toward Kate. None of us signed a loyalty oath when we decided to ship that said we'd only ever be allowed to say good things about them. And as some have already mentioned, this is still a place for Skate shippers. So yes, believe it or not, most people around here still care very much about whether Sawyer and Kate end up together.
(Also, who gives a shit if "the Jaters are watching?" I'm not sure I even get that. Are we supposed to be performing for them?)
And for the record I am not bein' hypocritical because I still find plenty of reasons to watch the show, even if I don't like Kate. I still love Sawyer, Sayid, Desmond, the list goes on.
And yes, FBL is a SKATE board but the bottom line is again, it's a TV show!! Whether or not Kate and Sawyer end up together or Sawyer and Juliet or whoever does not matter in the grand scheme of our lives! Are we going to fall into gooey puddles of tears if at the end of LOST Sawyer goes off in the sunset with Juliet, or for all we know he could find Cassidy and make a life with her and Clemmie, which isn't a bad idea either!

May say something? Nobody has ever said Sawyer is 'angelic' as one of those elegant posters said. And we never said Kate's an 'evil witch' either but let me ask why it's ok for Kate to get away with all the crap she's pulled and not Sawyer, Sayid, etc etc.
How is it that Kate can hook up with Jack and that's not disprespectul to Sawyer? But yet Sawyer hooking up with Juiliet is disrespectful to Kate? See that's hypocrisy. That's giving one person more leeway than another.
And if your life, revolves around whether or not one character gets with another than you don't have much of one and are gonna be sorely disappointed. If I thought that way i'd be terribly depressed right now. They've destroyed all my ships, killing some of my favorite characters off. Am I sad about that? Yes but this is a TV show and the viritrol should stop honestly.
Now if your a shipper, that means you like both characters and want them together cause you think they are good for eachother. It's why i'm not a Skater anymore because I don't want Kate with Sawyer now. So if your gonna continue to ship them why the viritrol toward Sawyer? He's not the only fucked up the relationship, Kate did her part too.
Hypocrites to me are the worst kinds, applying a standard to one person they won't apply to another, or to themselves. Which is why I stay away from places where it exists.
And no i'm gonna go over to FB and argue this cause it ain't worth my time cause obviously minds aren't gonna be changed and cooler heads will not prevail. It's a shame too, cause the discussion used to be good.
