RE: Season 5 Discussion

And for the 'i'm so shallow'  hottest moment award, Sayid and that bounty hunger. Dang Dayum and all those words. It was the steamiest thing i'd seen in awhile at least until she kicked him in the face. See personally I would've done him and then maybe arrested. Pardon me for thinking she's a little dumb in that sense. But hey that's just me hehehe.

I'm shallow too because I would have done the same damn thing.

Okay now where do I start.  So many interesting parts about last night's episode entitled He's Our You, which was a Sayid centric episode.

What we learned:
1.  Why Sayid was on the Ajira flight.
2.  Who the woman was that was escorting him.
3.  How Sayid was raised
4.  Just how far down Sayid can sink by shootin' a kid.  (Even though he was that creepy "bug-eyed bastard" Ben.)

It appears that Sayid seems to think that if he kills Ben in the 70's, he wont grow up to be Ben in 2004.  But, as we know from Daniel Faraday, that's not how it works.  But sadly, our dear Sayid doesn't know that.

Okay so let's address the precarious situation that Sawyer is in.  He has a life there in Otherville, one that he likes tremendously.  He is a respected member of their society in a position of power and authority, not to mention he has a woman who loves him.  So the question is, does he sacrifice all of this for Sayid?  And as we know the answer is no. However, he does do everything in his power to help Sayid without giving away anything.  But as we can see it is all beginning to unravel and that's because the "O-sux" came back.

Even Juliet said she never thought they'd ever come back.  As much as I love Sawyer and Juliet, it's quite obvious that their happy little world in Dharma-land isn't going to last, and the return of the O6 is simply the catalyst that makes it all happen.

So as for our poor Sayid, as I said earlier, he's under the impression that if he kills Ben now then he won't grow up to be the Ben that manipulated and used him and everyone else he came in contact with, but that's not going to happen, because at the very least we know that Ben is alive and on that island, all be it in a different time.

So since Sayid is on his own, as he chose to be even after Sawyer tried to help him, it will be interesting to see what happens now.  But one thing's for sure, it'll be one hell of a thing to watch!

Great Lisa.. asweoms look and I''m gonna elbaorate on one point of yours and add something you reminded hime of.

Sayid is on his own again. I say again cause he did this once before. At the end of Confidence Man he left the camp in self-imposed isolation. The reason her gave to Danielle was  "I did a bad thing, something i'm ashamed of.' Being on his own is the real punishment he gives himself all the time. I think he does this cause he's been alone most of his life really.

When one does things they can't deal with they foster behavours like this. He couldn't stay there in Otherville, anymore than he could stay in camp. He's a bad person, he dosen't belong there.

Which leads us to something LIsa brought up about when Sayid had the truth serum. Which had its own amuxing parts, but the statment he made about why he was in handcuffs was delivered in an interesting way. It's good acting on the part of Naveen when he hung his, not looking at them and answered 'because I am a bad man..' It's the way a child would answer and the truth serum simply brings out his honest feelings on who he is.

He's a bad man is all there is to it for him. And I think the part that the worst is, he's not beyond saving, he just thinks he is. And whether he believes it or not, he needs other people. It's his only real savlation.

And on Sawyer's life with the Dharma people, it was doomed longe before the 6 got back. We knew that already. And those people are not as wonderful as they'd like everytone to think. Whose to say the 'Hostiles' as they call  them, are the actual bad guys? After all, they were there first.
