John watched the waiter a little more.  "I'm still not sure I like it."

The food finally got there and Shannon dug in, still laying the charm on the waiter and eating her food. Trying to enjoy herself in spite of the suspicious nature she felt around her right now. Not wanting to feel freaked out just going out to eat.

"This is good, I like this.." she said, taking another drink. "I like this place... really enjoying myself..."

"Maybe we should relax some."  Libby said.  "All the boy's done is just flirt with her."

"Yes, I suppose there is nothing for us to be concerned with."  Sayid said.

After eating a bit more she realized she had to go to the bathroom and got up, putting her napkin on the table.

"I gotta use the ladies room.." she said with a  little giggle. "It's what happens when I drink beer."

"Oh good, I'll go with you."  Libby said.  Okay yes, she was overreacting but with everything that happened to Sayid, she wasn't taking chances.

Noting the slighlty worried nature, she shook her head and began to step toward the bathroom which was within site of the booth the whole way. She wasn't worried.

"Nothings gonna happen to me.. it's a public ladies room and you can see it from here so relax.." She twirled a little as she turned. "Besides, i'm not exactly helpless.."

"No it isn't, and to make sure, I'm goin' with you."  Libby said.  "'Scuse us, gents." 

She followed Shannon into the outter area in the ladies room.  "You think we're over-reactin' doncha?"  Libby asked.

"Maybe I shouldn't be, but I'm a bit protective of you honey."  Libby said.  She talked to Shannon while she was in the stall.  "Not that I don't think you can take care of yourself, I just don't want to let you get in a bad situation.  You know?"

John looked over at Sayid.  "I don't know what it is about women and restrooms, but we'll be waitin' on 'em forever.  It takes them a while, 'specially when they go two at a time."

"Oh I have noticed that already."  Sayid said.

Libby looked at her seriously.  "Maybe."

like i'd let that happen again.."

"It's not you lettin' it happen, I'm worried about."  Libby said.

She'd finally started getting her life back again. Taking it back from the men who'd hurt her and made her afraid to be herself. When she stopped wearing skirts for awhile, stop flirting and being the provactive girl she was. Finally starting to realize that none of it was her fault. It pissed her off that she still had to be careful.

Libby felt terrible.  She hadn't meant to scare Shannon and Sayid didn't seem the least bit worried about it, but something told her this wasn't a good thing, and all she really wanted was for Shannon to understand there was a threat out there and to protect herself.  That was all.

"Must be nice to be a guy, and not worry about that shit.. to be able to go wherever you want, on your own but i'm just a girl.. can't do that.. I might get hurt like I did before.."

She washed her face and hands and dried them, looking at herself in the mirror for a second.

"Shannon,"  Libby placed her hand in a calming way on Shannon's arm.  "Honey, I'm not tryin' to ruin our dinner and I'm not tryin' to upset you, I just want you to watch yourself and be careful."

She hung her head and looked down and then back up to Shannon.  "You know the threats we've had against us.  I just don't want us to get complacent."

"And that waiter he may have suspicious intentions but.. he's nothing I can't handle, i've been around alot worse in my life."    

"I know that.  I just don't want you to have to prove it."  Libby said.

Shannon leaned against the sink and blew a strand of hair out of her face.

"I don't want to be scared anymore can't you understand that? I Just want my life back.."

Libby reached for her and hugged her.  "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything.  I just don't ever want you to get hurt.  And if that means I have to be the enforcer, then I'll be that."

Libby let go of her hand pushed her hair out of her face.  "Just watch yourself honey, okay?  Promise me that?"

Libby smiled softly at her, hoping Shannon didn't hate her for being so protective.  "C'mon, dinner's gettin' cold."

Sayid and John

"So what do you think of that guy Sayid?  You're usually the first one to notice things like this."  John said.

"Shannon thinks it doesn't bother me and I don't notice.  She is half right."  Sayid said.  "This one does not bother me but I do take notice.  If I perceived him as a threat, I would handle it.  But, I do not."  Sayid said.

"You never cease to amaze me Sayid."  John said.

"Shannon amazes me, John."  Sayid said.

Sayid looked up to see the ladies coming back from the bathroom.  "Here they come."  He said.

"So? What did you men talk about while we were in the bathroom?" She asked with a little smirk.
 
John smiled a little.  "Just talkin'."  He said.

And then leaned over to whisper in her husbands ear. "Maybe you were thinking about what you'd do to that guy if he touched me..like that would happen.."

Sayid smiled a little.  "Of course.  As I was telling John, I see no threat for us to be concerned about.  While an individual's stupidity is clearly a hindrance, there does not appear to be anything to worry about here."

Shannon smiled, knowing if any guy tried anything in his presecnce they would probably get hurt, and badly too. And although she could handle herself for the most part, it did make her feel protected too. Which for some reason turned her on. She ran her hand on his leg again, smiling a little more at him.

"You know what I love about you the most though?" She asked as she finished eating.
 
"What my love?"  Sayid asked.

"That your secure enough to know that flirting is all it is.. cause you know that your the one taking me home tonight that's what.."

"Thank you, my dear."  Sayid said.  "And make no mistake, if there was a threat against us, I would do what is necessary."

"What do you think?"  Libby asked John.

"Oh, he's probably harmless.  Just a wreckless kid, I think."  He said.

She enjoyed making guys think they had a shot, they really didn't have a chance in hell. She was well satisfied with her man, and it showed. She'd never want anyone else.

Sayid finished his prime rib, enjoying it immensely.

"Wow I must've been hungry cause i just inhaled that.." she said, and burped into her napkin. She gave a sheepish look.
 
"Go, Shannon."  Libby laughed.  "Mine was delicious.  I think we should come back here again."

"Sorry.. I have no manners at the table sometimes.. and my daughter is just like me isn't she baby.. burps at the table all the time.."

"Oh it is hysterical.  You should see her."  Sayid said.  "I realize we should scold her for it, but it is entirely too cute to be angry about."

Shannon drank more of her ale, and left her hand on her husbands leg. They laughed and enjoyed the rest of their supper chatting. She herself still flirted and in general had fun with the waiter, feeling it come back to her so naturally, and all the while thinking about how she'd like to get Sayid back in bed and stay there for days showing him exactly how happy he made her, as if he didn't already know.

They chatted more about Sarah and the usual happenings back home.  Libby and John filled Shannon and Sayid in on the event of Christmas Day.  Sayid found it all quite funny, but of course, had they actually been there, he might have felt differently.

"So are we about ready to go?" She asked, finishing her ice cream sundae now.
 
"Yes, I suppose we should."  Sayid said.  "It is getting a bit late, and I think we should get Sarah to bed.  Bridgett has been so good to take care of her."

"cause I gotta work off all this food.." She touched her stomach. "I ate like a pig today..don't want to get fat or anything.." 

"You ain't gotta 'bout that honey."  Libby said. 

Sayid paid the check and they walked out to the car and drove back to the house.  "I am very glad we had the chance to have a nice evening together."  He said.

"Y'all sleep well."  John said. They walk upstairs and into their own room, shutting the door behind them.

Saying goodnight they went and saw to Sarah who was pretty much worn out from playing. Shannon kissed her little face and pulled her little blanket over her, and thank Bridget for watching her.

Sayid leaned over and kissed his sleeping daughter.  "Goodnight, dear child."  He said softly.

"Shall we go to bed?" she asked coyly, snaking her arm around his waist. "it is after all one of my favorite places to be.."

Sayid smiled and followed Shannon into the bedroom. 

Shannon got into the room and closed the door behind them, and began the slow and entertaining process, at least for him, of taking her clothes off.

He loved to watch her taking her clothes off.  She was simply stunning and it made all the blood rush to his cock as he watched her.  Sayid watched her golden hair cascade down her back as she pulled the little shirt up and over her. 

Then he watched her jeans slide down off her hips.  She wiggled them just a little bit and he swallowed hard, knowing exactly where this was going, and knowing that by the time he was 50 she would have worn him completely out.

She captured his lips in a deep kiss, keeping her legs around him and just laid there for what seemed like forever, just kissing and touching. Feeling so loved and alive. Her fingers combed through his hair and her tongue moved with his as they lay wrapped up in eachother.

"All I will ever need... is you..." she murmured as she kissed him. "Just...your....love...." She looked into his eyes. "And our family..that's everything that matters.."

"You're right my love."  Sayid said.  "We have each other and that is all that matters."

Sayid leaned down and kissed her again.  This night they would sleep better than they had in a long time.

Eventlually she felt herself getting sleepy and curled into his arms, kissing his neck and chin lazily. And draping a leg over him she closed her eyes and began drifting off, feeling warm and safe in his arms.

"Goodnight baby.." she whispered as she drifted off. "I love you..."

She would never stop saying it, didn't matter how many times she repeated it. He was everything to her and she wanted him to know that every second of every day. As her body relaxed into his, there was a silent hope within her for some peace and quiet. To have a season of rest. A time to heal. They needed it physically, and emotionally.

Sleep finally overtook Shannon and she held her husband tight in her arms, with a peaceful smile on her face. They were safe. For now.

"Ggodnight my love."  Sayid said.  "Sleep well."  And with that they fell asleep wrapped in each others arms, deeply in love and home.
