Uninterupted: 10 Ways To Tell, chapter one part 2.

Picking up on the fact that the questions were getting very serious, Kate read the next to herself, to know what was coming ahead. They were both very relative and meaningful, to Sawyer and herself especially, it was almost eerie.

Noticing she was a little worried and spaced out looking, Sawyer leaned forward and snapped his fingers in front of her face You still there, babe?.

Kate jumped at the sudden noise and then heard and processed his question. Yeah sorry she apologized still looking a bit worried.

Whats wrong? he asked her, lightly laying his hand on her knee.

Nothing she assured him. Its just never mind she dismissed his concern, raising the magazine to read the next question.

Sawyer withdrew his hand, staring at her hard wondering what was eating at her. He found out two seconds later.

Has he ever displayed concern or rage when something bad happens to you? Kate managed to get out, in a barely audible voice.

Sawyer was getting edgy as to how relevant these questions were, was she making them up?.

Seeing the look on his face Kate moved forward slightly to display the page to his eyes.
Im not kidding, it really says that.

After scanning the page which confirmed her statement. Sawyer, from where he was sitting noticed he had a nice view down the front of Kates top, she was wearing a black bra edged in silk lace which showed or a big amount of her tan cleavage, he only got a few second look before she moved back but it had a massive effect of him. He mentally tried to stop himself from reacting.

Kate not noticing his little spectatorship, sat back and waited to see if he would give any kind of answer.

Sawyer was looking down at his knees, thinking hard.

She was thinking about the same thing he was, two days ago. The Others.

She remembered the look on his face when one of them had dragged her up from the jungle ground and shoved her into the snake arms of that guy who seemed to be their leader. The way Sawyer had looked at her made her more upset than she already was, he looked so longingly her, as if he would give anything to get her away from that guy.

Then shed seen the change that came over his expression when the old revolver was pressed against her throat. It turned to pure red hot rage, and hed advanced on the guy, only stopping when that bastard had cocked the hammer of the gun back, taking the safety off.

Then hed threatened him, not getting to the end of his sentence before he was told to shut up. Shed seen the physical strain on him as he tried not to say or do anything, as the Other could have easily pulled the trigger and shed have been dead.

When the Other had stated his business of wanting the guns in exchange for her life, to Jack, she couldnt believe he had waited until the very last moment before he told the other to stop counting when he threatened to shoot her. He had to think about it before he decided her life was worth more than 5 guns and giving up the search for Michael, and after he didnt fully accept her apology, shed been avoiding him ever since.

After the guns were all handed over first by Jack, then Locke and Sawyer last. Who before dropping his 9mm had told the Other that he and him werent done. She was then pushed roughly towards Sawyer who instantly wrapped both arms around her and healed her against him. She recalled him sshhing her and rubbing her back as she tried to hold back the relived sobs threatening to over-take her. He then removed the gag in her mouth and wiry ropes that were cutting of the blood supply to her wrists.

As they watched the Others melt back into the dark jungle, she recalled that hed kissed the top of her head, shed almost forgotten about that, maybe he cared about her a lot more than he let on.

The only time Sawyer had felt more fear and rage since the death of his parents in 77 was that night when she got taken. The relief that flooded through him when she was pushed over to him was nearly enough to put him on his knees. He sent a death look over the top of her head to that bastard who had held her at gunpoint. He meant it when he said they werent done, he was gonna get him back for that one day.

When Kate and Sawyer locked gazes again, no words were needed. They both silently agreed what the answer was. It was beyond them to put it into words. The answer was yes. He had.

Great, Kate thought, now they werent talking at all. She definitely didnt want things to continue this way. Thank God theres only one left, she thought. Then she and him could get back to just being themselves.

Nine she clarified.

Does he understand you?

Kate couldnt bring herself to look at him, she just kept her eyes glued to the page hoping hed offer her some kind of no comment to get it over with. Even a grouchy snap or a perverted comment would have been accepted gratefully right now to break the tension, but what he said was the last thing in the world she was expecting.

Yeah

Her eyes gradually traveled up the length of his legs to his chest, then his eyes. He just said yes, she couldnt believe it.

He had been looking at her the whole time, seeing her surprised expression, he asked calmly.

What you think I dont?

Still freaked out, Kate eyed him with gravity. You think you understand me?.

Sawyer sighed, Hell sweetheart, no need to get offended, I only said... No! no Kate cut in. Im not offended I just she trailed off not knowing how to finish the sentence. Sawyer looked confused.

I think you understand me Kate said quietly, her green eyes were honest on his.

Sawyer was slightly taken aback with such a declaration from Kate, but he recovered fast.

Well I think so too I mean look at the facts he said in a tone that sounded like he wasnt done talking.

He wasnt. We both have fucked up pasts so I know how that feels. Two, besides your big crime thats got you on the run, somthin tells me you aint exactly been a little angel and dont you even deny it! he stopped her as she started to open her mouth to speak, she stopped, leaning back again, smiling.

I aint been found out for my big offence, at least I think not he added remembering he was on a deserted island, over a thousand miles away from the Australian Most Wanted Board.

He continued on in a soft voice an I know that breakin the law is taken as a last resort for people like us, were in enough trouble as it is, an it just means more tellin yourself youre the most evil person to walk this planet torture, it sucks but we aint got a choice, cos a wanted criminal cant exactly walk into a bank and ask for a cash withdrawal can they?

Kate thought the only words that could describe the sound of his voice with any justice were flowing pure melted honey. She wouldnt be bored if she had to sit through him reading out the entire Bible from the first page to the last, she was happy just to hear him talk. His tone of voice was so special, it was expressive, it could be low and seductive one second and the next high and intimidating. She thought it was beautiful. For years Kate had dreaded the prospect of listening to a Southern man speak, it brought back bad memories of Wayne, but since she met Sawyer she had learned to love his.

So they use a few guns to rob it instead Kate added, making a connection to her experience in the bank in New Mexico, missing out a few details though.

I dont usually do that Sawyer responded. I walk in wearin an Armani tux and carryin a empty suitcase, and I tell them Im the guy here to collect the money due for JDI Lumberyard Inc. or somthin then show um some fake contracts an I.D to prove it, an walk out thousands of dollars richer he smiled, looking proud of how cunning he was.

Kate was puzzled about something. But she started tentatively how do you find out theyre due someone money?.

Without a seconds hesitation Sawyer told her, Screw the receptionists.

Kate closed her eyes wearily, wishing she hadnt asked. She tried to cover up her amused laugh with a disgusted look.

Robbery by force counts too though, so does anythin else if your already wanted by the law Sawyer said looking her in the eye and giving her a gentle smile.

Kate didnt smile at him back though, she was looking at him with a new found fascination. His words had been like a light in a dark room to her. She never thought anyone could ever understand her like he could. It was like he was pulling the thoughts out of her brain and reading them out loud. It made her look at him in a whole new way.

His chiseled features and tanned skin. The bangs of his recently cut blonde hair were being blown out of his eyes with the breeze of the ocean behind her, and then were falling back into them as the waves receded, taking the breeze with it. His short, dark stubble graced his face from above his lip, back across his cheeks to the start of his jaw and down his neck, stopping at his throat. Then she took in his eyes, which she had concluded a while back were blue now looked a dark green like hers, she couldnt make up her mind about what colour they were. He looked like some kind of Greek God come to Earth.

Kate had always tried to keep a lid on her attraction to Sawyer, because of his physical appeal it had been hard, but over the months she had come to know him better and that had made it a thousand times worse, because she realized he wasnt just another handsome guy. He was different, she knew she couldnt just indulge herself with him like she had other men, because she wouldnt be able to walk away after words without looking back. If this wasnt the case then shed have let him bed her a long time ago.

Now the seams of that lid were starting to peel back due to the pressure of the feelings and attraction that had been building up inside for months, it couldnt handle it anymore. The magazine slipped from her grasp and landed in the sand although she didnt notice.

The combination of what hed just said to her and they way he was looking at her now made everything going on around her just fade away, Claires tent behind him, Jin fishing up the beach, Charlie and Hurley having a loud conversation about Superman, just dissolved into nothingness. It was just him and her, staring each other down.

This made Kate brave enough to want to move towards him, straddle him, and kiss him senseless. She was pretty sure she would have if she wasnt startled by a loud beeping noise. Then she realized what it was. Oh my God this is not happening she thought. Of all times to go off it went of now!.

Sawyer couldnt believe it, this had been his quickest, deepest, most successful attempt hed ever had at getting through to Kate and this happens!. Hed seen the way she was looking at him two seconds ago. Hed seen that look on hundereds of womens faces before, and he knew what it meant ,but to see it upon Kates features was totaly different.

What the hell was that? He watched bewildered as Kate pulled a digital watch out of her back pocket, then pressed a button on the side, silencing the loud beeping. She sighed and looked over at him.

I gotta go, Locke gave these out to everybody taking shifts at the button, mines in 5 minutes. God danm it, why did it have to go off now!.

Sawyer sighed, rubbing his hand over his eyes, there was no point in trying to rescue the mood they had goin now, it was too far gone, and arguing with her would only make it worse, hed just have to let her go. Alright he answered her, getting up.

Kate looked sadly across to him. Their highly developed ability to read each other showed that he was a bit sad about her leaving, she felt a massive sense of loss when the warm pressure of his legs against hers moved away.

She didnt want to leave but she had too, Claire had taken the last shift and she didnt want to leave her to cope with the button and Aaron for God knows how long before someone noticed that she wasn't back and went to get her, which would also cause a panic.

Kate followed suit to him, and got up as well. He had remained standing where he was, towering over her. She looked up at him and was met by a regretful expression, which he tried to cover up the second she saw it.

There was only one way she could save this thing theyd got going today, and it was very drastic. If he didnt to it first, shed been planning to soon but she never expected it to have to happen like this. Still, she didnt have a choice because she didnt want to just walk away and leave things like this, it would just ruin what had happened between them this morning. All the effort made would have bin for nothing. So shed have to do it right here, right now.

Sawyer looked down at her, she looked spaced out, she was staring at the ground of the tent, what was wrong with her?. Did she think he was mad at her for leaving or something?. Yeah, he was a little annoyed but he wasnt mad with her, just at the fact that things had went so far with them, all the effort they had put in this morning was thrown out the window before it was counted as progress. Progress at what? He didnt even know. A lot would have been made if Kate did what she looked like she was about to do before the watch went off. All because of a stupid watch.

After taking a couple of deep breaths to steady her nerves, and telling herself that this had been inevitable since the first time she kissed him all those weeks ago, biting her lip, Kate got the guts to look at him again, he didnt seem angry at all so she was okay to go.

After a quick glance round to make sure no one was watching, she grabbed his right bicep so she wouldnt hurt his shoulder and pulled him a few feet back into the tent, round to the left side of it a little so they were hidden by the hanging tarp.

Sawyer was more than a little confused, he looked down at the top of her head as she stared at the ground. What the hell are you doin?.

Its too late to turn back now, she thought gazing up at him. The look in his eyes suddenly made her feel very feminine and confident, which would help with what she was about to do. Reaching up and placing her right hand in the hair at the nape of his neck, and her left hand on his cheek, Kate stood up on her tip-toes and she kissed him.

Sawyer was gob smacked, he couldnt have predicted this was what shed do, and it took him a couple of seconds to take the fact that she had just kissed him in, before he started to kiss her back. At first he left his hands where theyd gone, lightly touching the side of her hips, but as the kiss continued and got deeper, he moved one up to the back of her head and the other wrapped around her waist pulling her closer. This earned a moan from her, which only turned him on and made him kiss her harder.

Kissing Kate was like nothing hed ever experienced. It was the ultimate adrenalin rush, and once he started he couldnt stop. Pure ecstasy was what it caused, and out off all the hundreds of women hed kissed in his life, none a single one of them came close to this. Third base with them didnt come close to this, and he was only kissing her. It made his desire for her go even further than it already had. He moaned deep in his throat when she removed her hand from his hair and started to run it down his back.

Kate knew it was selfish but she wanted to take things a bit further before she had to stop this, it just felt so good. Withdrawing her hand from his hair, she ran it down over his shirt and back up under it. Caressing the smooth skin on his back, feeling his muscles ripple under her touch. She moaned as he moved his hand from the back of her head to cradle her jaw as his tongue glided against hers.

Kate pulled back before her last remains of self control were shattered. It took her a couple of seconds to open her eyes. She met Sawyers he was staring at her, breathing hard. Their arms were still around each other, and they didnt move them. Seconds went by, they didnt move.

Finally she broke the silence. I gotta go she whispered wrapping both her arms round his neck, she kissed from his chin, along his jaw causing him to close his eyes again. But Ill see you later. She stopped when she reached his neck, removing her arms sliding them down his chest as she leaned back to see how he was taking all this.

Sawyer was stunned, but he admired her for the fact that she was brave enough to make a move like that. God he was absolutely floored by just making out with her. His breath was coming in shaky, shallow gasps. His body temperature had risen and he could feel the blood coursing through his veins and his heart hammering in his chest. Hed never felt this turned on.

He heard what she said, still disappointed that she had to go especially after shed done that but hed bide his time. Yeah he managed to say in a low, husky voice still trying to come to his senses. He leaned down again, having to kiss her one more time before she left. It was rather quick and chaste but the both knew it had so much more behind it. After they pulled back, he slowly unwrapped his arms from around her, his eyes on hers the whole time.

Kate knew she had to go now before hed drive her crazy with lust. It took every once of control and patience she had to not just shut the tarp, push him on the bed and tear his shirt open.

Instead she smiled at him sweetly, leaning up she kissed his stubbly cheek before turning and rounding the slight corner to exit the tent, picking up the magazine to take it back to the hatch with her. He gave her a couple of seconds before following her out. They stood at the entrance of the tent for a moment, sharing a meaningful look.

Later Sawyer Kate told him, in a flirty tone, grinning at him, still flushed from what had happened in the tent.

Sawyer liked the merge of flirt and Kate, he'd never heard anything so sexy, he smirked at her slowly Hate to see you go Freckles, but I love to watch you leave he drawled staring at her jean clad ass.

She smirked back before walking off, winking at him over her shoulder. He winked at her back which caused her to laugh. She was so glad theyd finally managed to make it this far, past all the lies, hurt and big walls they had set up around their true selves. No more denial, from now on she was going to be totally open and honest with him. And just as importantly, honest with herself about the way she felt about him. Winking at him was just barely the very start of it.

Sawyer looked after her as she disappeared into the trees bordering the beach, a smile on his face. Hed never met anyone else like her in his life before, and he was certain he never would. For the first time he felt almost glad he was stranded on this island, otherwise he would have never met her.

Then something occurred to him to him, he was amazed that hed even remembered but it was too late to tell her now. As shed said, later. He didnt stop smiling as he started to walk round the corner of the beach to where the bay was, for his second swim that day.

Hed never needed to cool down more in his life.

So? How did I do?. I am aware of the fact that the 10th question was not brought up in this chapter and I did that on purpose. It will be mentioned in part 2 of this chapter, and so will a few other things wink, wink. Press the button and tell what you think kittens x
Luv ya x.

Just to let you know, after I've wrote the next chapter to conclude this moments story, I have decided the next one coming up will be based on when Kate & Sawyer are sitting outside the hatch after he wakes up- but the horse is not going to make an appearence :). I origanaly was going to do the rainy-day in the tent story after this as it was in the same episode, but decided against it as I thought it would be nice to start on a totally different situation, to keep you interested.
