Blood Bonds: Lost Meets True Blood

Chapter 1

His eyes snapped awake and he realized that he was laying on his back again. “Did you have that dream again.” She asked.

Yea.” He answered. He looked over out the window and saw it was morning.

She kissed him softly and snuggled back onto his chest. Her naked body pressed against his and and her leg was draped over him. He could still feel her wet and warm from the night before. He traced his fingers down her back and then back up her spine again. He kissed her forehead as they started to wake up a little.

Guess we better get up.” He said.

She looked over at the light coming through the windows. “I still can't get used to the idea that vampires can still get out and move around during the day.”

He chuckled a little. “Yea, I'm a regular dracula.” He said. He got up and walked toward the bathroom.

She watched his naked body move. “Nothing regular about you honey.” She said.

God he was gorgeous, tall with long blonde hair and a deep Southern drawl. She had no idea how old he really could be, he would joke and say, “let's just say I fought for the South.” But she suspected he was much older than that. He had even said at one time that he'd sailed on a Viking ship, and if that was true it would make him somewhere around a thousand years old. It didn't really matter to her, all that mattered was the man she loved and she loved him.

James?” She asked.

What Julie?” He turned to her.

What're we gonna do about them?” She asked.

He stood there naked looking at her. “Beats me, baby. I have to meet with Horace today, maybe we can figure somethin' out.”

I hope so.” She said. She got up and walked toward him. He licked his lips as he watched her naked body as she moved. He gazed at the blond patch of curls which lead the way to his paradise. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply. He reached over and turned on the shower. “Wanna get wet, baby?” he asked her with a sly look on his face.

Thought you'd never ask.” She whispered as her hand wrapped around his hardening cock.

The girl had left Eric's tent early after they'd both had their fill of each other. Him of feeding from her and her from fucking him hard all night. He was still in a drowsy state when Richard knocked on the side of the tent.

Eric, are you awake?” he asked.

I am now.” He answered.

Eric put on his shirt and walked out to meet with Richard. They both sat down at a little table. Richard poured him a cup of coffee and offered it to him.

I don't exactly care for coffee.” Eric said. “Besides I had a big breakfast.” He said.

Alright.” Richard said. “As you wish.” Richard took a sip of his coffee. “Now what are we going to do about those people?”

I don't know, Richard, I haven't given it much thought lately.” Eric said. He and his people had been watching these new people who'd been setting up their lives on his people's island. And for some reason their security man LaFleur struck a chord with Eric. Something about him seemed very, very familiar and it was quite obvious that LaFleur was hiding the fact that he was a vampire. Eric knew he was, he knew it, he could smell it. “When are we going back to our own barracks? I mean we've been camping out here in the jungle for several months now and it's not exactly home.”

I was thinking we should head back today.” Richard said.

Good. I'm not the kind of man who finds sleeping on the ground pleasurable.” Eric said. “I've had enough of that.” He looked over at Richard. “So what do you know about this LaFleur?” He asked.

Not a whole lot right now.” Richard said. “I find it amazing though how much he resembles you.”

Really, I hadn't noticed.” Eric said, but he had noticed. He looked over at Richard. “Richard, don't play games with me. There's something on your mind. What is it?”

We need to make a statement Eric.” Richard said.

Go on.” Eric answered.

They need to know we mean business.” Richard said. “They need to know that no matter what we do about the truce, they aren't nearly as safe as they seem to think they are.”

So you're saying you want to attack?” Eric asked.

No not attack per say.” Richard said. “I think a few strategic hits is all we need. But we have to hit those they trust the most.”

That would be LaFleur for sure. He's their security chief. If we can get to him, then we would make a statement.” Eric said.

No, it's not LaFleur we need to get.” Richard said.

Eric smiled having a pretty good idea where Richard was going with this. “Then we get to his wife. We get to Juliet.”

Exactly.” Richard said with a sly smile. “That's exactly right.”

Chapter 2

James had gone on to the security office to see about meeting with Horace. Miles, Phil and Jin walked in from time to time to check with him on perimeter sweeps and the latest news on the truce.

Horace walked in and sat down in the chair opposite his desk. “Hey Jim.” Horace said.

“Mornin' H.” James answered. “What's up?”

Horace leaned back and laced his fingers through his long hair. “Well it looks like their plotting something.”

'What makes you say that?” James asked.

“Because I've seen them walking the perimeter.” He said. “We need to do something about this Jim.”

“Alright. I'll set up a meeting with Alpert.” James said.

“Listen man, I don't think that'll do it.” Horace said.

“Yea? Why s'at?” James asked.

“Because of Eric.” Horace said. “You know him?”

“Not personally but I know who you're talkin' about.” James said. Actually James knew more about Eric than he ever wanted Horace to know. He knew Eric was a creature like he was. He could smell it. He could feel it. The two of them shared a bond, unspoken, but still it was there. “What are you getting' at H?” James asked.

“There's talk that he's dangerous and that he wants to ruin the truce.” Horace said.

James leaned up and looked at Horace. “We're all dangerous Horace.” James said.

Horace knitted his brow. “Why is it you're taking up for them James.” He asked.

“I'm not takin' up for 'em, I just don't want anybody goin' off all cock sure and startin' a war.” James said. “Keepin' everybody in this place safe is my job and my responsibility and I ain't takin' that lightly.”

“Listen man, I don't mean to tell you your job, but I'm the head guy around here and I want to make sure everybody's safe too.” Horace said.

“Yea, I know.” James said. “Just let me see what I can do.”

Horace nodded and left James' office.

“Alright, so which one of us grabs her?” Eric asked.

“That's really not all that important.” Richard answered. “You can if you want to.”

“Well, I haven't exactly been out in the field, so to speak for a while.” Eric said. “And I suppose I am somewhat rusty.”

“It sounds to me like you are convincing yourself.” Richard said. Just then a young woman walked over to Eric and sat down in front of him. He put his hand on her head as if to pet her.

Richard knew what was coming and he had to admit it made him a little squeamish. “Come here, dear.” Eric said as he pulled the girl into his lap. His fangs came out as he closed his eyes and drove them into the side of her neck, drinking the delicious nectar she had to offer him.

After a few minutes he finished and helped her up. He released her to go back to her own tent.

“I really hate when you do that.” Richard said.

Eric licked the last bit of blood off his lips. “That is real power Richard and that's why you need me.” Eric said.

“Maybe but you need to grab Juliet as soon as you can.” Richard said.

“Of course.” Eric nodded as Richard walked back to his own tent.

Chapter 3

Juliet finished up the breakfast dishes and began to get the kitchen cleaned up. She was off today and thankfully didn't have to go into the clinic today. She planned to spend the day relaxing and working in her rose garden. She was thrilled with the way her roses were turning out and she couldn't wait to pick another bouquet. She always liked to have a fresh bouquet of flowers on the table when they ate dinner.

She also thought it would be a good idea to go by the commissary and get some more orange juice and some chocolate milk. She knew how much James loved them both. She opened the drawer and placed a spoon in the tray when she felt herself double over in pain.

“Ahhhh.” She winced as the pain hit her. She panted as the pain subsided. Juliet had gotten kind of used to these pains since they happened so frequently. The first time she was hit with one, she immediately went to the clinic. Being a fertility specialist, she knew she was pregnant but having lost two babies already, she thought it best to keep a close eye on this one. Of course there was also the question of James. She hadn't told him about this baby yet, which she figured she better or before too long the baby could end up telling him for her.

A few minutes later, the pain stopped and she began to go about her business of the day. She went out behind the house and worked in her rose garden. Juliet loved her roses and she had absolutely beautiful ones in some really pretty colors. She picked a fresh bouquet and took them into the house and put them in a vase with some water. She put the vase on the dining table and then grabbed her shopping list and her identification and left the house.

Eric and one of the other lower level vampires crouched down in the bushes just outside the perimeter fence. He had seen one of the other security people come by and turn off the fence which Eric thought was a completely stupid move, but at the moment it would definitely make the task at hand a whole lot easier. Eric actually felt sorry for James in a way. He was stuck with some really stupid people working for him. Like Phil. He thought James must have the patience of Job for putting up with that one in the first place.

He and the other idiot that Richard sent with him watched and waited, like a tiger stalking it prey. He really hated the fact that Richard expected him to do it. It seemed that he should have earned the position by now that he shouldn't have to do this. But then again on the other hand, if this wasn't done right, Juliet could seriously get hurt. And Eric was not ready for her to get hurt yet. Though sadly, she probably would before it was all over with.

Juliet walked toward the infirmary. She wanted to stop and have Jack check her out. He was a surgeon but he was also the only doctor they had besides herself and she usually handled the general medical and first aid of everybody there, but she wanted another opinion anyway.

She stayed there for a while and by the time she left Juliet felt a whole lot better about the state of her and James' new baby. However she thought Jack never really liked the idea, and she was more than likely right. Juliet left and headed for the commissary and then back to the house. She got the groceries she needed and then headed back down the path toward home.

“Now.” Eric ordered. He and the other vampire came out of the bushes and the other vampire grabbed Juliet around her back and bent her arm up. He held her against his chest and put his hand over her mouth. Eric stood there with his usual menacing presence.

“Do you know who I am?” Eric said to the woman who was actually his sister in law, however she didn't know that.

“Hmph.” She grunted as she tried to answer, but all she could do was nod. She dropped the bags of groceries as the other vampire seemed to enjoy manhandling her just a little too much.

“Good. Then you will not give us any trouble.” Eric said. “We are not going to hurt you. At least not yet. You will come with us and I trust that you are smart enough to know not to test me.”

Juliet tried to speak. “Allow her to talk for a moment.” Eric said. The other vampire released her mouth a little but kept his hand on her chin just in case she tried to scream.

“Please.” She said. “I'm gonna have a baby, please don't hurt my baby.”

Eric smiled a little. “That may be the one thing that saves your life, my dear.”

“What about LaFleur?” The other vampire asked.

“Oh I am sure he will figure things out eventually.” Eric said of his brother. And with that they disappeared into the jungle.

James had finished his meeting and was heading back to the house. He had some time to relax and do the things he wanted to do. The security office was under control and he had plenty of coverage over the monitors. He could go home now and spend some quiet time alone with Juliet. He hadn't done nearly enough of that lately and today would be a great day to do it. He left the office and walked the short distance to the house. When he walked in he saw the flowers on the table, a sure sign that she'd been working in her rose garden earlier.

He opened the refrigerator and got himself a cold beer. “Jules?” He called. “I'm home.” He opened the beer and sat down in his favorite chair but she never came out from the back bedroom. He got up and walked through the house and realized she wasn't even there. James walked out the door and down the path and then he saw the bags of groceries on the ground and Juliet's handwritten grocery list.

He pulled out the walkie and immediately sent out the call. “All Security! Emergency! Juliet's missin'!” He said into the walkie. “All personnel converge at the fence in 5 minutes.”

“What happened Boss?” Myles said coming out of his house and down the path.

“I think they grabbed her.” James said.

“But the truce.” Myles said.

“Truce has gone to hell in a hand basket son.” James said. He looked around absolutely terrified that something might be happening to his Juliet. There was only one thing to do, and that was to go get her, no matter what the cost was.
